Dr Sara Cheikh Husain
I am Dr. Sara Cheikh Husain — a scholar, researcher, and advocate committed to challenging injustice and reimagining possibilities for more equitable, inclusive futures.
With a PhD in Sociology from Deakin University, I work at the intersection of decolonial theory, Islamophobia studies, and migration research. My bilingual fluency in Arabic and English empowers me to engage across cultures and disciplines, amplifying voices too often pushed to the margins.
My academic work is not confined to theory — it is deeply connected to real-world struggles for dignity, recognition, and justice. Through research, teaching, and public scholarship, I interrogate systems of exclusion and advocate for transformative change. I have published across leading journals, contributed to international conferences, and collaborated with civil society organizations to drive evidence-based action.
